About Wandsworth Carers’ Centre

Wandsworth Carers’ Centre is a registered charity and limited company that has been providing support to unpaid Carers in Wandsworth since 1995.  Wandsworth Carers’ Centre is the lead provider of Carers Partnership Wandsworth.

Vision, Mission and Values

Our vision is a society where Carers are recognised and valued for their contribution and have choice and control that enables them to care, to stay healthy and to lead fulfilled lives.

What is a Carer?

A Carer is someone, who without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage without their help.  This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.  The term Carer should not be confused with a care-worker, or care assistant, who received payment for looking after someone.  Carers are at the heart of Carers’ Partnership Wandsworth.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for Carers and people affected by caring responsibilities.

Our Values

Integrity and Honesty

Transparency

Respect

Accountability

We support Carers, in their caring role, to have a life outside of caring and to have a voice.  With offices in both Wandsworth and Balham, we are able to deliver our services throughout the Borough.

We are currently working with 4600 Carers across the borough. It is estimated that unpaid Carers save the economy £132 billion annually. This equates to the 4600 Carers we are currently supporting currently saving the economy £88.9 million annually. Many Carers are unseen or, have not yet identified themselves as a Carer and are receiving no support for themselves. Help us support the people who are helping save millions for our economy each year.
