Advocacy

Our support workers are able to provide advocacy to those who need it.

Navigating the benefits, social care and health systems, to name a few, can be a difficult and overwhelming experience.

It’s not always easy to know who to speak to or how to contact them; it’s also not always easy to express what it is you want to say when you.

The role of an advocate is to help you express your views and wishes and can help in a number of ways.

An advocate will

  • Listen to your views and wishes
  • Provide information to help you make informed decisions
  • Help you contact the correct people or contact them on your behalf
  • Accompany you to meetings

An advocate will not

  • Make decisions for you
  • Give their personal opinion
  • Influence any decision you have to make

If you feel that you would benefit from advocacy and are being supported by one of our support workers, have a chat with them about how they can help. If you need advocacy and are not currently being assisted by us, contact us today to find out more about the support available to you.
