Carers Partnership Wandsworth

Bringing together organisations and Carers in the borough of Wandsworth to make caring more visible

Wandsworth Carers’ Centre is the lead provider of Carers Partnership Wandsworth who currently work with a variety of partners in the Borough.

The Carers’ partnership Wandsworth scheme has been designed to provide services that are developed and co-facilitated with Carers in mind. We strive to make caring more visible across the borough and give Carers a voice.

Carers:

Carers are a key partner in Carers Partnership Wandsworth. There are many ways that Carers can be involved in the partnership to ensure that our services are co-produced with Cares at the centre of the decisions we make and the services we offer. If you are a Carer and would like to get involved please click here.

Our current partners are listed below.

Bluebird Care:

Bluebird Care provide respite services, allowing Carers to take some time for themselves with the knowledge that their family member or friend is being well cared for by a professional.

They provide care and support for people with complex needs in the comfort of their own home. Their staff understand that to be able to take good care of your family member or friend it is important to take good care of yourself. Time to rest and recharge is vital so that you can continue in your caring role.

If you would like to find out more about the respite available with Bluebird through Wandsworth Carers’ Centre please click here.

Goodgym:

We have partnered with Goodgym who provide volunteer runners across the community who are able to complete tasks and deliveries for Carers. Goodgym combines getting fit and doing good and the support they offer is provided by runners who are helping our community.

Goodgym are able to do small tasks around the house as well as shopping deliveries and prescription pickups. They also have coach runs which are a chance for volunteers to make regular visits to an isolated member of the community who, in turn, would keep the volunteer motivated with their fitness programme by encouraging them to run to their visits.

Goodgym have been supporting our Carers throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue to partner with us moving forward. If you would like to access their services please email: Support@wandsworthcarers.org.uk and we will be in contact.

INS:

We have partnered  with INS to offer specialised support for Neurological  Carers.

INS employs a multi-disciplinary team providing physiotherapy, occupational therapy (OT), speech and language therapy (SLT), and social work support. Other therapy, activities and administrative staff also form an essential part of the team, supported by experienced and dedicated volunteers including skilled counsellors.

Carers Passport Scheme

Carers passport scheme:

A Carer Passport is a record which identifies a Carer and sets out an offer of support, services or other benefits in response. A Carer Passport helps to improve and embed identification, recognition and support for carers in the day-to-day life of an organisation or community.  We will lead on developing a Carer Passport scheme in our organisation and across the local community. Carers themselves will be at the heart of the development of this scheme and will be involved in co-production from the start of the process. We will work in partnership with Carers to identify how the Carers passport can best support Carers locally. For more information email: Louise@wandsworthcarers.org.uk

Become a partner:

We want to broaden and strengthen our current partnership arrangements; this would include partnered services receiving annual Carer Awareness training from us, bi-monthly newsletters updating them about the partnership and services we have for Carers, and a designated partner contact who would be the point of contact for any Carer related queries. By partnering with us, organisations are showing their Carer Commitment; identifying and supporting Carers within their organisation, and a willingness to work in partnership with the Carers’ Centre to develop bespoke Carer support when opportunities arise.

If your organisation would like to join Carers partnership Wandsworth please email: Eglionna@wandsworthcarers.org.uk and we will be in contact.
