Senior Carers Peer Support and Development Worker – Mental Health

This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust and Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster Mind, to support Carers of people with mental health conditions.  This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training, and peer support groups.

Job Title: Senior Carers Support and Development Worker – Mental Health

Salary: £31,974

Period of employment & hours: Full time (35 hours) 2 years fixed term contract

Work Location: Wandsworth (London)

About The Role:

Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role.  You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups in response to identified need and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. You will work in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLStG) and Brent, Westminster and Wandsworth Mind (BWW Mind), to ensure Carers are identified and routinely referred into the service. You will have responsibility for line managing the Mental Health Carers Peer Support Worker.

Administration, Reception & Asian Carers Support

21 hours per week £17,635 incl. of Inner London Weighting.

The successful applicant will be required to provide a full range of administrative support services to our small busy Centre. You will need excellent reception and first point of contact skills, as well as a friendly and efficient approach and experience of reception and office systems. Experience of using Microsoft Office 365 and experience of using a cloud-based CRM database (desirable). The successful candidate will require Asian language skills, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and the ability to facilitate a Carers Support Group.
